A Thousand Cranes is a compilation of poems and short stories. Themes of speaking out, keeping silent, telling jokes, telling the truth, and living with faithful or mysterious companions intertwine through nonlinear story lines. This is Corbin’s first, but certainly not last, effort to capture the paradoxical, quirky details of growing up.

Two plays — well, that’s 48 hours. As a member of the writing team, Corbin came up with some wild ideas for the actors to bring to life. “Whippoorwill,” was a dark flashback with a mystery ending, and “Infant’s Infantry,” set in New Jersey during the Revolutionary war, featured bungling Red Coats who just couldn’t get it together.

Every once in a while, a writer’s gotta stand up for himself. Corbin also has a background in acting, singing, and improv. The Asbury Park Monologues is a venue for creatives to share their pieces with a live audience.
